Obviously, they're NOT TRADEABLE, but I mean in terms of value to the player. I think balance here will make or break people's use of the daily ZCQ.

For example, I haven't played the game in months but I'm sure you can still go farm for ecto. What is the current rate people farm ecto approximately with popular builds? It's my opinion (and one you can back up by looking at most of the game's empty content) that people will not focus on tasks that are low reward based. They'll instead simply mob around the most valuable tasks.

The other thing to take into consideration is Zkeys. Zkeys are in some way a joke, people with multiple accounts raking in endless money and use of them on monthly chest opening. Yet they're still worth a decent amount, for whatever reason I don't know, maybe sheer luck considering the abundance of them. So they have to be considered as the other thing that "takes away players from other content" because they give a vast reward for doing virtually nothing at all. So how will a zcoin exchange rate compare? And will people want to play missions that may be hard and require effort to get a reward that's already being given out like candy on Halloween every month?

They'd better hurry up and balance this before the update because frankly I'm already having a hard time seeing how the new daily challenge will fit in against a game with 2 super easy, super wealth producing mechanics already in place.

depends on what you can get from them. being a collector's item with no title attached, its value will be purely dependent on how popular the items you get for trading them in.

it also depends a bit on how the missions are structured. if it is random each time you talk to the npc, then the value of zcoins will be relatively fixed. if the mission changes by day, you'll probably find the zcoins spike in value on days higher end pvp is chosen as the mission.

as for long term trend, it's value will start relatively high, how high depends on the popularity of the items you get with them. since there's no title attached, its value will quickly go down.

Well, for one, you can't trade them outside of your account. Linsey said as much at the chat the other night. You will be able to trade them in at the pet menagerie, and she said we would be able to use them to get zkeys, and other collector items (which *are* tradeable).

Im not sure if i understand correctly, but if your saying how will they make the trade in for zcoins worthwhile when people have unlimited money from zkeys monthly. Then theyl probably trade them in for A: Balth faction, B: Green Zonly Weapons or something that goes in your HoM, and if coins are going to be non-tradeable then i presume the item you trade for will be customized for your account so you cannot sell it. So nothing traded actually has any value.

It is impossible to predict seeing as we do not know exactly what they are and how they are acquired. we only know they are used in pet menagerie, which doesn't seem like it will be a multi-million platinum business, lol

Okay, there's no way to answer this just yet. I'd imagine that the reward will fit the quest difficulty. For example, you'd get more coins from the Urgoz Bounty Quest than you would from killing, like, suneh stormbringer on the plains of jarin. Likewise, we'll probably get more coins for winning a GvG than you will winning a JQ match.

It's all speculation at this point \o_O/

There's to much information that we don't know: Everything they can be traded for, How many will be given per quest reward, etc. But at a rough guess, I'd say.....

$2.50 ???

The value of Z-Coins isn't the real question here, since Z-Coins themselves can't be traded. What matters is the relation between the worth of rewards. For example, Imperial Commendations have a value between 200 and 320 based on the rewards you obtain from them, and certainly some things you can get have more value than others. Those items with the highest return value determine the Commendation's worth. Granted, those are tradable, but the same thing applies to coins.

In today's market, for example, if you could turn in two Z-Coins for a Rice Bean Cake or fifty coins for a Z-Key, which would you choose to get more value out of your Coins? That's how the Z-Coin's worth will be determined, which makes Linsey's job of balancing those rewards tough. Hopefully, if she balances it a little out of proportion, they won't take too long to shift the reward scales.

We don't particularly decide what they should be worth, Linsey does that. So, that's what they're going to be worth.

What should they be worth? Who knows... We don't even know what we have to do exactly to get them, and how many we get from doing said thing that we don't know of. That being said, if we don't know the difficulty to earn them, nor the amount or reward given, it's impossible to place a value.

More seriously, if each daily quest rewards 1 Zoin, then let's assume that a player has an average income of 0.8 Zoins a day. I'd say there should be a variety of rewards:

1-5 Zoin rewards consisting of things like Salvage kits, Repair kits as well as alcohol and sweets.
5-10 Zoin rewards where you get a stack of tonic, or a stack of summoning stones to summon an ally (like the golem ones or the imp one)
10-20 Zoin rewards: Collectors weapons with skins like those of the PvP only skins, or other weapons
20-25 Zoin rewards: Armor pieces, Zaishen Armor for every class. Or, if they don't make new armor skins then, an armour voucher to get mats and 15k for a piece of prestige armor.
